Working on behalf of a leading technology business with rapid growth, we are recruiting for a Technical Support candidate to join an existing team. You will be working as part of a team that identifies, troubleshoots and resolves technical support requests. Your responsibilities in this role will be to support desktop/ notebook hardware, software and wireless devices for internal corporate users. It will be required of you to prioritize service requests based on documented guidelines and customers need. Analysing and troubleshooting of moderately complex Windows desktops, network, telecommunication or software application issues will be required of you. The aim of this position is to resolve the customer’s problem before it is escalated to Senior Technicians or next level support. You will also be assisting in the set-up of printers, scanners and fax machines as well as supporting projects from time to time and offsite ad hoc events. To be considered for this role it is essential that you have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within a hand on customer technical support. Alongside this you must have a BA/ Diploma in Computer Science/ MIS or equivalent education and experience. You must have a thorough knowledge of specified hardware, operating systems, applications and other technologies as well as a A+ certification for current hardware; Dell and IBM certification. The successful candidate for this role will be a logical thinker and problem solver and have the ability to function effectively during periods of high stress. You will also need a knowledge of Networks, LANS, current MS office suites/ Windows 2000/ XP and Vista.
