Our client, a successful technology company based in Epsom is currently recruiting for an Systems Engineer. As Systems Engineer you will be responsible for providing design and implementation of the company’s product into a customer site. You will be expected to install and configure the product suite as well as develop specific custom applications as and when required in order to meet customer business needs. Alongside this you will be expected to provide concise and well-articulated quality documentation to the company standards and provide detailed test plans to confirm the correct and expected operation of the developed applications. Identification and monitoring of project related issues will fall to your responsibility and you will need to communicate these issues to Management, Support and other members of the Project Management team. Consistency between each and every customisation will be crucial and you will need to provide regular and accurate data into the support systems. Your understanding of the company’s products and technology needs to be at a very high level and you will need to work as part of a team and communicate regularly with other departments. You must be willing to travel for this position as a significant time will be spent away from home per month, possibly working abroad. Your success in this role will be measured by customer satisfaction, project delivery, quality of the product deployed and documentation. All installations, configurations and customisations must be performed to meet the project needs in a timely fashion in accordance with company standards and agreed quality standards. To be considered for this position you ideally will have hands on development skills and be MSCSE and CCNA qualified however this is not essential. It is essential that you hold a wide range of technical knowledge. The experience you must have includes: •Significant experience working with Windows 2000/2003/2008 operating systems •Basic networking background and working knowledge of LAN’s and WAN’s. •Web based reporting/OLAP •Significant recent experience using object orientated programming languages •Experience using database technologies e.g. Microsoft SQL, ODBC, stored procedures etc.. •Experience of component technology e.g. OCX’s, Active X controls, DCOM It would also be an added bonus if you had basic knowledge of CRM packages and Cisco routers but this is not essential. To also have the following ability would be an added bonus: • Ability to develop object orientated applications utilising either C++/C#/Visual Basic or Java in a real time or telephony based environment • Good SQL Server experience –installation, configuration, development •Good understanding of one or more PBX CTI interfaces: o Aspect Application Bridge o Lucent Passageway o Nortel Symposium •Knowledge of Work Force Management & Optimisation suites •Knowledge of speech/text or customer feedback solutions It would also be a bonus if you spoke a second European language but this is not essential.
