The Opportunity As Software Engineer for this marketing and technology driven business you will provide technical leadership for defined projects during requirements, design, construction, and transition phases. Your role will provide technical expertise across requirements analysis and elaboration, schedule and scope management, architectural design review, design modeling, code construction, QA and deployment consultation, documentation and support. Consultation and driving internal and customer-based initiatives, providing detailed status and issue escalation to management are core elements of your business. You will have the opportunity to lead project teams and providing mentoring and coaching to entry level through to mid level engineers. Key Responsibilities •Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications. •Supports and/or installs software applications. •Design and develop technical solutions for a defined project •Coaching and mentoring staff •Support requirements elaboration and analysis •Participate in design and architectural sessions •Adhere to structured development environment •Assist in project sizing, project plans, technical evaluations, timelines and risk analysis Candidate Profile •Full lifecycle application development including design, coding, unit testing / debugging and deploying applications in java and other software languages while utilizing best practices to achieve desired output. •Proficiency with Object Oriented programming languages, Java is preferable but other languages, such as Python, Scala, will also be considered. •Sound understanding of RDBMS design (Oracle is preferable), N-tier architecture and web technologies •Commercial experience working with Hadoop and NoSQL big data architectures. •Passionate about working on Open Source projects. •Proficiency with both application and database performance optimization techniques. •Experience integrate software with existing systems. •Demonstrated understanding of UML, Design Patterns and any of enterprise architecture tools. •Comfortable working on both Linux and Windows platforms. •Full SDLC experience; good understanding to the concept of any IDE and source code control tools. •Experience in ESB, System Integration Framework, Data Integration and ETL. •Experience in Agile or DevOps methodology is an advantage; willing to be a scrum master to lead the sprints. •Experience in UX e.g. D/HTML, JavaScript, JSON and REST protocol is an advantage. •Marketing industry background with experience in automated data integration systems is helpful.
