Senior Scientist / Associate Director – Analytical Development

An exciting time to join this innovative biotechnology company who are built and focused on a patient centric model, as Associate Director of Analytical Development, this is a high-profile role where you will be part of the development team responsible for motivating the team to challenge science and support small molecule drug development projects. With extensive publications you will be a confident leader and networker across multiple disciplines.

You will be able to operate as a Leader of a cross functional team to secure the best outcome for the business. With strong influencing and nurturing skills, you will be committed to best practice and creating a centre of excellence within your team. A strong visionary in your field, you have a clear idea of how to push drug development projects through to completion

THE ROLE:

  • Expert in analytical methods like HPLC, GC, MS, NMR
  • Ability to analyse the drug in terms of substance and specifications
  • Decision maker in terms of setting up the retest period, storage and shipping conditions for the drug
  • Knowledgeable in terms of chemical, solid state and formulation development
  • Be able to detect and deal with any issues through the drug development and use the appropriate IPC methods to control the process
  • Create the methods of checking the stability of drug substance and drug product
  • Working closely with different teams taking part in the project
  • Communicate with cross functional teams in terms of any analytical issues and provide the solutions
  • Generating, checking and approving source documents for regulatory submissions
  • Supervise the whole project team
  • Participating in the onboarding process of new staff, conducting performance reviews and solving any conflicts between the team members

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • PhD in relevant discipline
  • Analytical chemistry background within a commercial setting
  • Extensive publications within analytical development
  • Expert in HPLC, GC, MS and/or NMR
  • Drug development experience encompassing clinical design, chemical development, solid state, formulation and analytical development
  • Proven people management experience
  • Understanding and knowledge of ICH, FDA and USP guidelines
