In order to comply with a European Union Directive which applies to all member states, the Government has legislated to require UK based Video On Demand services offering TV-like content to follow certain rules. The legislation makes OFCOM responsible for ensuring that these rules are complied with, and OFCOM has decided to delegate its powers and duties to a new, independent Regulatory Body called ATVOD which is being developed for this purpose. A small HQ will be set up in Windsor (may move to London W1 in 6 months) with key stakeholders located remotely and with outsourced services providing HR, accounts, payroll etc. Our client is now seeking a highly efficient Office Manager and PA to set up and manage the office, implement process and procedure, database management, arrange meetings, taking minutes at meetings, travel and diary management. Knowledge of payroll, HR and book keeping are useful combined with excellent MS Word, EXCEL and Outlook. The current company structure necessitates that the successful applicant will be working on their own quite a bit, so self motivation and professionalism are key requisites. Familiarity with ‘new media’ in general would also be an advantage. This role offers excellent scope for personal development and would suit a very career minded individual who can demonstrate relevant skills and experience. Start 22nd March for an initial 6 month contract.
