Our successful technology client, based in Weybridge, is looking to recruit an experienced Java Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a multi-faceted role focused on technical excellence combined with an ability to develop and maintain a complex suite of Software solutions whilst assisting in the development of new product offerings. You will be responsible for development and maintenance of the company’s trading application portfolio ensuring quality and consistency of the software architecture across all solutions. This position will be highly hands on involving all aspects of the development lifecycles, from conception to design and QA. Our client is looking for someone who can work well as part of a team and who is able to focus on the effective delivery of a specific product line. You will be expected to maintain high standards at all levels, ensuring the product line is kept up to date whilst continually implementing the best practices that will provide the highest quality compared to competitors. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of a full product development life cycle ideally in a product line environment and specifically they must be able to develop applications in C++/Java in both real time and telephony environments. Experience of working with audio and compression algorithms alongside PBX CTI systems is essential. Alongside this the ability to speak French will also be seen as an advantage but it is not a prerequisite. Previous experience of using database technologies such as Microsoft SQL and ODBC, component technology such as OCX’s, Active X controls and DCOM and ideally both backend server and front-end application development is desirable. Based in Weybridge (Surrey), this role is commutable by car and public transport from locations such as Guildford, Addlestone, Shepperton, Egham, Staines, Windsor, Slough, Woking, Leatherhead and Sunbury-on-Thames.
