The IT Support Engineer provides general IT support for their UK operation and infrastructure support to the rest of the company in conjunction with IT staff from other international offices. Energetic, highly collaborative people are being sought for our client’s dynamic and fast-paced environment. Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide PC troubleshooting support, repairs and upgrades (memory, disk drives, etc) • Work with other members of IT staff in diagnosing, troubleshooting, fixing and testing server, network and telephony problems. Similarly, assist with installation of new infrastructure in the London office, and in upkeep of servers as well as second line support to other offices via remote systems. • Participate as needed in support of enterprise applications. • Assist colleagues within the IT Operations group to complete projects and initiatives • Maintain the end user desktop environment, including computers, phones, applications and password resets • Assist with asset inventory control and software compliance Candidates will ideally have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a relevant role and an understanding of the following competencies: • Solid understanding of Windows packages • Strong PC hardware knowledge, including laptops, desktops and servers • Team player – highly collaborative and a strong preference to work as part of a team • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills • Knowledge of basic LAN/WAN design and understanding of functional relation between network and desktop environments • Able to work effectively both over the phone and in person with end users requiring assistance • Customer-service orientation, high energy, helpful and positive attitude. • Basic telecom system knowledge and administration experience • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally • Experience with trouble ticket systems This role would suit someone looking to establish or further develop a career within IT Support and looking to receive recognition for performance and effort.
